I am colorblind...

Edward stared up at the ceiling. And found himself fighting his nervousness as Roy hesitated. And when he thought he'd go crazy waiting, he heard Roy's voice next to his ear.

"Is it okay?" Roy breathed

Ed choked back a laugh. He wanted to say that it was a little late to be asking-- but then, what did it matter--he wasn't about to stop just because Roy's conscious was suddenly rearing its ugly head.

"It's fine, I'm not a kid anymore right?"

Roy grinned into Ed's hair. "As you say"

It was sort of strange to hear the Colonel asking. The way Ed usually heard it, the women practically stripped naked and waited for Roy to find them in his bed. He supposed it was different though. He wasn't a woman after all, nor had he been waiting in the older man's bed. It had been more like... well his fault really. Perhaps he shouldn't have confronted Mustang without planning it out a little better.

Coffee black and egg white

Roy was blinking at the pieces of the door to his study strewn haphazardly around the room as one Fullmetal Alchemist launched into a tirade. His eyes lost interest in the bits of wood and debris when Edward's hands slammed down on to his desk and a small crack zigzagged from under Ed's automail. Cobalt flicked up to meet molten honey, and Roy smirked.

"What can I do for you Fullmetal?"

"Don't pretend you don't know." The younger man hissed leaning his full weight on the surface of Roy's desk. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the crack lengthen. He took a sip of his coffee and returned his gaze to the file he'd been reading.

"I have no idea what you're talking about Fullmetal."
Edward pulled a wad of cash out of his pocket and tossed it onto Roy's desk. "Your winnings asshole" he snarled leaning a bit farther onto the desk to grab hold of Roy's shirt. Roy tilted his head back, for once having to actually look up at Edward

"Winnings?" Roy had decided that drawing this out would be much more amusing in the long run than actually admitting to knowing exactly what Ed was referring to. The fact that he'd been right only made Ed's ire that much more entertaining. Edward bared his teeth and Roy had a sudden, irrevocable vision, of Lt. Havoc beaten senseless in some filthy back alley.

"You bet on when I'd lose my--" Here Ed blushed and paused "And you were even right about which girl it would be. How? How do know these things?" Ed had one knee on Roy's desk now and each word was punctuated by a sharp tug on his white uniform shirt. A few of the buttons came off, and Roy watched as they slid and skittered across his desk and onto the floor, and that crack-- why wasn't Ed noticing how big it was getting?

"Edward..."

cccrrrriiiiiicckkkkkkkk

Instead of letting Edward crash into the floor with various knick-knacks and what was left of his desk, one of Roy's arms circled Ed's waist almost reflexively and pulled Ed into his lap as he flailed and lost his perch on the collapsing wood. Ed was still struggling to regain his balance and Roy had to lean back in order to avoid being cracked by Edward's automail.

"Be Still!" The words were sharp and commanding and spoken in a tone that demanded obedience. Ed stilled immediately then as an after-thought he scowled. "Let me go" He muttered crossing his arms.

The Colonel's lips twitched, another sip of the coffee he'd managed to be holding since he first noticed the crack, and of course Edward only realized at that moment that he wasn't being held and had been sitting unhindered in Roy's lap for several seconds. He blushed and scrambled up quickly, his hands brushing the sides of his legs. His fingers itched to rub away the warmth where the Colonel's well-toned thighs had pressed up between his.

"So how was it?"

Ed coughed and would have whipped around to tell the damnable Colonel just exactly what he thought of gambling in the military, especially when it involved the loss of a subordinate's virginity to a pretty librarian. The thought was lost as Roy's arms circled his waist again. Ed stiffened. The heat of Roy's body was seeping into his own, but a shiver skittered up his spine making him want to squirm

"I.. uh... I don't think that's any of your... hur..er--wha...!?"

Edward twisted his head back and away as Roy's lips caressed a spot just behind his ear. He managed to fall ungracefully at Roy's feet. And sat there until the tiny electric currents that were making his skin tingle had faded away.
The younger man stared at his commanding officer's shiny black boots for a moment, snarled "Bastard" in the general direction of Up and Directly Ahead, and scrambled to his feet.

His hands were running up and down his clothes now. Removing dust and bits of lint. Inside his scientists' brain things just weren't making sense. He wondered inside his head, why it hadn't felt like that when Lana kissed him there? Her lips were so gentle and sweet, so soft he’d barely felt them. He scowled. Why hadn't he felt nervous or jumpy or... shivery with her?

Mustang's flirtations were the stuff of legend. People could write stories about him. Something to do with him riding up on a white horse and rescuing pretty damsels from Black Knights probably.

In his mind he was making comparisons, dissecting his experiences. Was his body really telling him that his whole time with Lana paled drastically in comparison to a smallsmallsmalltinyinsignificantlittlenothingofakiss from Roy Mustang?

Pull me out from inside

He moved slowly almost like he was trying to recall how it was done, like he was only just realizing what would feel good and what would make Ed feel good, turning over the sensations in his mind, picking one and exploiting it until Ed thought he might go crazy or maybe they both might, then going back and finding another. He tasted Ed's skin, then his automail, then both at the same time, running his tongue along the rough line of scarred skin and metal that made up what was left Ed's arm.

"Roy?" Edwards voice was low, and a little unsure

Roy smiled into the juncture between Ed's shoulder and the smooth pale column of his throat

"I'm still here" he breathed.

And suddenly Edward felt reassured, and not scared, and completely--entirely wrapped up in a man he barely knew and had probably never spoken a kind word to.

I am ready, I am ready,
I am ready, I am...

"I wonder, did you even bother to leave the library? Take her to dinner maybe?" The taller man advanced on the eldest Elric brother. Even if they were only on the first floor, Edward couldn't concentrate on finding an exit.

The younger man seemed to have forgotten how to make a decent escape and was simply backing away, one foot behind the other. His mind was too distracted trying to sort out his confused thoughts, his golden eyes flicking around him not really managing to focus on anything. A couch, a window, sea green paint on the walls.
"Or was it sort of rushed? Pressed up against a bookshelf dust getting in your hair..." Here Mustang paused and reached out to grasp a few strands of silken gold between his fingers. He let them slip away over his fingers as Ed took another step backward.

"Did you watch us or something?" Ed growled. When Mustang didn't reply he stopped moving. A staircase rose and twisted towards the ceiling to his left and to his right was the door tall black oak. It had little discolored circles; obviously where branches had been cut to make the planks from which the door would be constructed.

"Freak" he hissed.

He could probably get over a stupid bet, and if he used enough soap he'd maybe be able to scrub the feel of Roy's lips off his skin. But to watch him... while he... when he...

His face turned bright red, he told himself it was rage, or outrage or whatever other kind of rage one could feel, and definitely, definitely not mortification. But before he could even imagine the feel of his automail smashing into the bastard's jaw, Roy continued speaking. "I didn't watch Fullmetal. You're just rather predictable, that's all."

Of course he only wanted to watch Edward squirm.

Taffy stuck and tongue-tied,
Stutter shook and uptight...

The long hall that led to Roy's study stretched out behind him. Ed could still see a few chunks of wood where he'd kicked down the door. Roy stood in the middle of the hallway. His uniform was a mess, the jacket was gone; buried somewhere under the shambles of his desk. Buttons were missing from his shirt and bits of thread hung from the holes. There was a black smudge in the shape of three fingers over a large wrinkled spot on the left side of Roy's chest.

And yet he wore the uniform like it were princely robes. A smirk that might have been a smile, or maybe a laugh, curved his lips, and he turned purposefully and headed up the stairs one hand brushing the railing.

It was like one of the books where you get to 'choose your destiny' (not that Edward Elric believed in that sort of thing) he could choose to go Up The Stairs rather than Out The Door. He wanted to yell or maybe kick the older man a few times. But the words didn't come and he more or less trailed behind Mustang like a puppy as the dark-haired man made his way past several doors closed on empty rooms, up another flight of stairs and down another hallway.

The room they stopped at was somewhere near the back of the house. When Roy opened the door, Ed paused a little surprised. The room was relatively small. It had probably housed a servant or some aging relative of the last owner's. The carpet was a dark green and the walls were a deep blue. Scratchings of random transmutation circles were carved into the paint, thin black lines in the blue, as though someone had practiced them there even after they had learned to draw circles perfectly.

A small desk sat to the right, under a window. The chair was on the other side of the room next to a dresser with a lamp and a pile of books, some open, some stacked on top of each other. All would make for interesting reading for any State Alchemist. The bed was common, one box spring mattress covered in white cotton sheets and a dark Navy quilt. No canopies or anything romantical like what Ed might have imagined.

Roy saw the look on his face and shrugged. "I don't bring them here" He was pouring himself a glass of brandy over by the desk. The glass and bottle had been there when Edward entered, but he was still only seventeen and not really interested in getting drunk with Roy of all people. The two Items had been ignored.

He understood what Mustang meant though. Alchemists usually had a space (if they had a home that is) where they could be alone to read and research, to think and study and rethink. Others rarely saw this place and here rules were broken and possibilities endless.

He didn't bring his women here. But he had brought Edward.

Pull me out from inside...
I am ready, I am ready,
I am ready, I am fine

Somewhere in the middle he'd asked if Edward was alright.

Neither had made any real sound the whole time. Just quick, surprised little gasps, and shuddering breaths. The edge of the blonde's automail knee was cutting into Roy's side. His automail fist was clenched and planted firmly on one shoulder blade. The skin was getting a little raw, but at least there were no finger-shaped chunks missing from the rest of his back.
Roy wasn't sure which would be better. To make the blonde scream and writhe and go completely crazy over him. Or to continue as they were now with Ed beneath him, a glazed faraway look in his eyes, and pink lips parted a small trickle of drool he probably didn't know was there on his chin.

It was hard to think or care, because when they moved together... the whole world shattered and shimmered and collapsed. And Roy's heart stopped beating and Edward's pretty gold eyes got big as saucers.

And...

I am covered in skin,
No one gets to come in...

"Are you in love with her?"

"Why? Are you jealous or something?"

"How long are you going to keep this up?"

"Keep what up!?"

Roy was in front him now. Staring down at him, as though he were studying the younger man. Breaking him down, breaking him apart with obsidian Alchemist's eyes. It had only taken him a few steps. The room was very small after all. His eyes moved up and away, to stare at a spot above Ed's head.

"You're free to do whatever you want. You have a girlfriend now."

"She's not my girlfriend!" This was said almost too quickly. Too loudly.

I don't love her. I love you.

"When are you..." And here Roy's fingers curled around his chin and tilted the younger man's face up so that he stared into pools of dark honey in the dim lighting. "Going to tell me you love me?"

"Never."

Pull me out from inside,
I am folded, and unfolded,
And unfolding, I am...

"Can I open this window?"

"No."

"But I can't breathe! Every inch of this place has your stench on it and--"

"I don't care"

"I don't love you"

"Liar"

"Where are my clothes?"

"Wherever you left them."

Mustang was lying on his side, staring at the thin black lines he'd carved with a pocket knife, or a key, or whatever was handy at the time. There was a chill at his back. He could hear Ed shuffling around, hopping a few times to get into his pants. The light rustle as he pulled on his tank top.

The day wasn't even over. Usually they would stay until he escorted them out. Lie in his bed. Press up close to him. Run their fingers over his skin. By the time he was dressed, they were. When Havoc came to pick him up, they were waving at him from the backseat of a cab as it pulled away from the curb.

Edward had only been there two hours. The sun hadn't even completely set yet.

Colorblind.
